Dr. Fuhrman Interview: How To Stay Healthy

Recently, my friend Rob Lee and I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Joel Fuhrman. Originally, the topic was supposed to be about mental health but with all that's going on with the COVID-19 virus, I felt some questions were needed on the subject.

While I do agree with Dr. Fuhrman that the best way to protect yourself is with a whole food plant based diet, I want to stress it's still important to social distance. Although most people will recover fro it, you don't want to be a carrier. Wait until the authorities say it’s safe before you go back to your usual activities. I would hate to be a carrier and think I might contaminate someone else. We didn’t stress this enough in the video but it’s important to remember.

Some Common Sense Tips About The Coronavirus Outbreak

I'm hoping all the readers of this blog keep healthy and follow some common sense when it comes to dealing with the virus.

You've heard it several times now, wash your hands. I think this is the single most important thing people can do to limit the spread of germs. It makes sense as we touch so many items throughout the day that have been touched by others. We also need to stop touching our face as they'e been warning us. It's far too easy for germs to enter your body through the eyes, nose and mouth.

The Why That Keeps Me Going

I had an awesome interview with Elisha Lee today. Elisha is founder of Eat To Live Daily and is helping so many people transition to a healthy plant based lifestyle and improve their health.

One of the questions during the interview had to do with my why. Why do I keep going and why do I keep eating the way I do. I answered that my why is health. But I was giving it some thought since the interview and my why has been even beyond health. I don't think I gave a complete answer because there are other whys.

An Interview With Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams

I've been inspired by Eric Adams work for a few years now. He successfully reversed his diabetes, helped his mother reverse her diabetes, both with a plant based diet. He transformed the New York City public schools to include Meatless Mondays and recently helped to eliminate processed meats from the school menu.

I heard Eric speak at a few events in New York. He is so awesome to hear in person. His story is quite impressive and will hopefully inspire those that are diabetic or sick with other diet related illnesses to change.

One Year Since My Abdominoplasty

Wow, it's hard to believe it's been one year since my abdominoplasty (commonly known as a tummy tuck). This was a procedure that I put a lot of thought into and was something I waited 5 years to do. I have absolutely no regrets doing it, as I gained so much more confidence since then.

For 5 years after my incredible 150 pound weight loss, I worked hard trying to tighten my abs. I did everything, from machines that heat the skin as a way to tighten, special creams, wraps, you name it, I did it. It wasn't just the ugliness of the skin that bothered me, but also the irritation that went along with it. I would get itchy and irritated in that area. I also hated the flopping sound it would make when I ran as I would feel embarrassed by it.
