I keep saying I don't want to do another challenge... I keep thinking I've done enough of them... Then another fitness challenge comes along and I sign up for it! I guess I have trouble turning away from fitness challenges, but I'm ready for this one!
For the fourth year in a row, I'm participating in the Bridgeport Regional Business Council steps challenge. This year, the competition is called the "Walk to Wellness Challenge". I once again signed on with most of the same team mates from last year at work. There are a lot of good competitors on my team.
I'm not in it to lose weight but I do like being active. I still get at least 10,000 steps a day, everyday since April of 2012 (minus the one day in 2013 when I was sick with a cold and only managed 5,000 steps). I figure why not do this challenge since I'll be walking anyway. A few years ago, I had over a million steps. As much as I'd like to reach that goal this year, I really don't know if I want to do that much cardio. It will depend on how competitive I feel at the time. More than likely, I will probably step it up for the challenge, but I really want to continue focusing on my strength training.
The competition runs from September 27th through November 21st. Several companies in Bridgeport and surrounding areas compete in this contest each year. As much as I would love my team to win, there are a few area businesses that are impossible to beat. We'll keep trying though!
