Wake Up People... Smoking and Obesity are a Deadly Combination!
I might have a biased view since I've never been a smoker, ever, all of my life. But this article is about a certain breed of smokers.
When I was at a local grocery store the other day, I noticed a morbidly obese man, probably around 400 pounds. He was limping along, as he had a lot of trouble moving around with all his extra weight. There he was standing in front of the store, and what does he do? He proceeds to light a cigarette. This is not the first time I've seen an image like this and why I thought I would write an article about it.
I think it's bad enough that people smoke anyway, but if someone is morbidly obese, what are they trying to say to the world? Are they saying they are suicidal, that if the smoking won't kill them then the excess weight will? Or maybe they don't realize how fat they truly are and think of smoking as their only vice?
I don't understand why so many people smoke anyway, but to see obese people puffing on those deadly sticks, it makes me realize that some people truly live in the dark regarding their health. I'm not trying to put anyone down. Like I said, I'm not a smoker, so I do not know about addiction. But I do feel if you are trying to lose weight and that you smoke, do yourself a favor and kick the tobacco habit along with losing the weight. What's the point of losing weight if you're still going to have poor health from the smoking.
