If these guys can do it... I know I will!
Healthy Living in Connecticut Blog
Working desk jobs for most of my life, I had grown accustomed to quick fixes for food on the run. I never made time to eat properly or look after my health and well being. Now 60 lbs overweight, I am making adjustments to my life to shed the pounds and live a more healthy lifestyle.
Just a short update...
Tonight I had a support meeting for the YMCA's corporate weight-loss challenge. It was not your typical support meeting. There was physical activity through an intuitive scavenger hunt that had two teams pinned against each other testing our limits. All I can say is that today was my first day of physical activity since I changed my diet. I have no endurance at all!
I was talking with Rich Hubbard a couple of weeks back about my weight loss progress. To say the least things were going pretty slow. I was eating better but I lost the vigor from my previous motivations (the really embarrassing ones... My motivation to lose weight & My 2nd motivation to lose weight: A trip in Boston)
Rich recommended that I try the weight-loss challenge that kept him motivated and involved. I figured it was worth the shot. Plus it would get me out of the house and bring me face to face with other people that have similar goals.
Slow but steady I am on my weigh (way). I'm starting my cardio routine tonight. Let's hope I do not drop dead from the years of neglect and lack of exercise. I will most likely start off on the elliptical for 20-30 minutes.
Weigh-in as of this past monday.
Confusion ingrained in our society is another example of how this nation is built to fail when it comes to dieting and living healthy.
Too much information makes some people feel empowered but realistically discourages most others when they become confused. The definition of living healthy seems to be subjective making confusion inevitable. That is why it is hard to keep on a diet or to live a healthy lifestyle. Either the food, science or philosophy of a diet will come into question discouraging people to continue it or keep them rolling into spending on different solutions to feed the greed machine.
