Loose Skin After Weightloss

I wrote about wanting to tighten my loose skin after all the weight loss a while back. I just thought I would follow up the story as I'm still dealing with the issue.

The problem is that my belly was stretched for so long with all the extra weight, it's taking it's time to go back down. There's no fat in there, at least I don't believe there is, but as many formerly obese people will understand, I'm left with hanging skin.

I've been doing a lot of strength training and it is helping. My arms have so much less flab and look a lot more muscular. The legs look so much better too and strong. The last area, the most difficult area, is the belly.

Some people say the only way to get rid of the excess skin is with surgery. If that's the only way, I'll stick with the skin. I did all this weight loss without surgery, I'm not about to do surgery for cosmetic reasons. I do have an appointment with a doctor this week. I want to learn what different non-surgical treatments are available. I've also heard that creams can work too. I've been using coconut butter and other creams, but maybe the doctor has one that he recommends.

My stomach is not really that bad. It looks like a small bulge but with all the abdominal exercises I've been doing, I'd like some of the muscles to show. At least I can be confident in knowing that my stomach looks flat when I have my shirt on! Part of me still wants to be able to go to the beach without a hanging belly though.

I was talking to someone about this issue and she told me how awesome it was to lose the weight and to think of the health benefits instead. I am very grateful of losing the weight and like I said, I can live with the bulge if it means surgery. I'd rather keep healthy that worry about loose skin!

I'll let you know if I learn anything new about tightening the skin. Also, I'd like to hear from those of you who've had success in getting rid of loose skin.

It sounds to me like you might be ready for the P90X.
