Ever since I lost 130 pounds, I've been trying to tighten my abs. Today, I had my first personal training session at the local YMCA. This workout routine will be completely different from what I've been used to.
As much as I have cut back on cardio, with the new training, I'll be cutting back on it even further. The focus is on strength and heavy lifting. It will take a while to get used to this routine.
I actually am one of the few people that likes cardio. Yes, the treadmill gets boring at times, but I still like the workout. Now, instead of doing 5 days a week at 30 minutes, I'll be doing three days a week, 20 - 30 minutes, on the days that I'm not doing the strength training.
The workouts are designed to be quicker too, so less time at the gym. I like the exercises so far and I'm hoping I'll see results soon enough.
My strength training has gotten to be so routine. My body got used to the machines and I think it wasn't giving me the kind of results I wanted. After a while, doing the same exact exercises will not help you get the results you want. The new exercises will be varied and the intensity adjusted and hopefully, my skin will tighten.
I'll let you know how it goes, but I do like it so far! I know I won't see results overnight, but at least I took the first step!
