Day 4 in the bag: Lose 40 pounds in 10 weeks
Day 4 of the 8 day jumpstart period completed!
Everything is moving along nicely and I am following the jumpstart period without deviation. The scale did not move too much but that is to be expected as there are always shifts in weight from day to day. Normally I would only weigh in weekly, however I thought it would be interesting to follow the chart on a daily basis. Shifts in weight can happen for numerous reasons like water retention, that pound of hamburg I ate the day before and it has not passed yet, really anything... but within the upcoming days we should see more significant weight-loss as my body adjusts accordingly!

This morning, I put in 45 minutes of the elliptical machine at the Bristol Planet Fitness. After my jumpstart period ends I plan on limiting my cardio to 45 minutes to 1 hour on saturdays and sundays. During the weekdays I will exercise twice day putting in 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour later in the evening.
Today's food intake:
Breakfast
- 2 eggs - scrambled mixed with half of bell pepper and 1 cup chopped green onions
- Morton's Light salt
Lunch
- Salad with cucumber, chopped red pepper two pinches of shredded 6 cheese mix and balsamic vinegar.
- 2 small oranges
Dinner
- 1 - 3/4 lb chicken breast seasoned with Italian herb seasoning
- 1 lb bag of frozen broccoli (cooked) with 1 tablespoon of margarine
- Morton's Light salt
I drank 110 oz of water throughout the day broken up in many cups of green tea (with Truvia sweetener and cinnamon) or water straight up.
There are other options for food within the jumpstart period yet I like to keep things consistent and predictable. After all I am looking at eating for utility and not for pleasure... the jumpstart period is really the only period of true deprivation and I am half way through it. Once I finish the jumpstart part of the diet I will get more foods to choose from as well as getting back some carbs.
