Strength Training Update: Working Hard, Getting Lean!

Strength Training Update: Working Hard, Getting Lean!

WOW! This had to be the most intense workout yet! My trainer told me right away today that he was gonna beat me up! He wasn't kidding, it was a challenging workout. If this doesn't flatten my abs, nothing will!

b2ap3_thumbnail_DSC_0096-1.jpgMy trainer checked my body fat percentage and I lost between two to four mm in my abs. That means I'm getting leaner, more muscle! My chest and legs are very close to lean. I know my legs feel incredibly strong, definitely my strength is in my legs! He still wants my body fat percentage to go down and the weight will fall into place. I do think the abs are tightening but I probably obsess about it too much. The hard work is paying off though.

So, what kind of workout am I doing this time around? I'm concentrating on workouts that use body weight as opposed to free weights. I'm doing pull ups, pushups, stair climbing, jumping jacks, and many more. There's so many exercises to do, I'm too tired to type them all! :)

The trainer told me to keep up the healthy eating. I'm trying to keep the protein high enough, but it's not always easy. I still avoid the sweets as eating right is the best way to achieve the results!

I know the training is giving good results and I feel more physically fit. After being overweight for so long, I'm amazed what he has me doing, and that I'm able to do the exercises! I never used to be able to do pushups or jumping jacks. The pushups are coming along and I've really gotten the hang of jumping jacks.

b2ap3_thumbnail_DSC_0110-1.jpgI stick with this workout for another couple weeks, and then the trainer will mix it up again. It's important to not fall into a routine where the body is used to the workouts as it's not as effective. It's better to keep changing it up!

I'd like to give a shout out to my friend Jackie, a blogger on the Healthy Living CT website. She just got her certification as a personal trainer. I know she's going to do an excellent job.
