Remember To Stay Safe When Shoveling
I know a lot of people are beginning to shovel the huge mounds of snow, especially in eastern Connecticut. I thought I'd remind everyone to stay safe this winter and make sure you use common sense when shoveling.
Remember to take short breaks, don't do too much at once and don't lift too heavy, especially if you are not used to lifting. Remember that snow can get very heavy! Make sure to lift with your legs, not your back.
Also, if you need help with shoveling, remember there are a lot of people around that couldn't get to the gym, and they'd be more than willing to shovel. On average, a person can burn around 300 calories per hour from shoveling. Who needs a gym when you have so much cleaning up to do after a storm?
When the wind is blowing and the wind chill is like zero, you need to dress warm. Keep safe this winter!
