No Wonder We're the Fattest Nation!
How about a Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe? Or maybe you'd like a Dunkin Donuts Bacon Doughnut Sandwich? And this really is over the top... how about a hands-free Whopper?
A hands free Whopper for those of you who are too lazy to pick up your burger and eat it. And Burger King also makes a bacon sundae, something that Homer Simpson would love to devour.
To be fair, Krispy Kreme is not the one behind the Sloppy Joe sandwich, it's a creation for the San Diego Fair. But what is wrong with most fast food restaurants lately? It seems like the focus is moving away from healthier alternatives. They keep offering bacon, sugar and anything else to contribute to the obesity.
I'd like to see a fast food restaurant, just once, advertise a new sandwich that's healthy. How about a low sodium offering? If the fast food chains keep doing this, the obesity rate will climb even higher.
It's not just the restaurants that are to blame. The public keeps buying the new creations. More people need to start ordering the healthier choices these restaurants have. I heard a statistic recently that the salads contribute to 5 percent of McDonald's sales. I could be wrong about the number, but I know it doesn't amount to much.
If the fast food chains can find a way to promote healthier alternatives, I would hope that customers would then eat healthier choices.
