King of Queens Waist Size
I was watching King of Queens a while back and was reminded about my own experience losing weight. Doug (played by funny man Kevin James) was talking to his wife Carrie (Leah Remini) about his waist size. He had no idea she was buying him clothing from the big & tall store. Doug was in denial about his weight and had no idea he was as big as he was. This pushes him to attempt to lose weight... as he says no one's gonna call him Fatty McButterpants anymore! He's too funny!
Anyway, it's so awesome to now be able to walk into any store and find my size. I'm a 36 but sometimes 34 fits too, depending on the clothing. It's such a nice feeling not to have to search for the big department. When I was size 44, it was very rarely in the regular shops... usually they could only be found in the big section. Sometimes, I would purposely buy size 42 and barely fit into them because the store wouldn't have my size.
It's embarrassing to need specialty sizes, but there was another problem. When the sizes were available, it wasn't always for the cool looking clothes but rather clothes you would never want to buy. It's hard to look stylin' with the selections that are available in the big sizes.
Now, the biggest problem I have with clothes shopping is finding tall sizes, but I can't change my height! Wearing a size 14 shoe isn't so easy either... only half the stores have my size. But the waist size is so great... it's such a nice feeling to have a size that's in virtually every clothing store.
Just a note... congratulations to former Fatty McButterpants, Mr. Kevin James. He also lost a lot of weight after his show ended.
