Strength Training Update: Almost At 10 Percent!

My trainer figures that one more session, and I'll be at just about 10 percent body fat! This has been a long journey but an awesome experience. I feel fitter than I ever have in my life! My energy levels are high, I'm getting stronger every day and I see my skin beginning to tighten.

My trainer measured my abs with the calipers today, along with the thighs. He didn't do the chest but his best estimate is that I'm somewhere between 11 and 12 percent body fat. He also used the Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA), a hand held devise that may not be accurate, but at least if the numbers are going in the right direction, you know it's working. My BIA came down another percentage point since the last time he checked it. I'm now at 18 percent on the devise versus 19 percent.

So what do all these numbers mean? Just take a look at this link and you can see the difference between body fat percentages.

I am starting to see some muscles showing through the skin of the abs. Not much yet, but the trainer says even a couple percentage points can make a huge difference. I also notice that there is very little flab on my arms. The weights have really been helping my arms, chest and legs. My legs measured at 8 percent body fat. It's getting to the point where it's difficult to measure body fat on the thighs. When body fat is that low, it's tough to get the exact number. But this means my body is now in the athletic area of the body fat percentage chart... AWESOME!

My weight is now in the low 200's but it's right where it should be. I'm eating more than enough calories but my food comes from lots of proteins and healthy fats. I have a lot of vegetables, lean turkey, peanut butter, almond butter, etc. By eating every couple hours, I keep my appetite in check!

Here are some updated pictures. I hope you can see the progress. I may not have rock hard abs once I get down to 10 percent, but I'm already happy with how far I've come!
